Rough Draft at Elberta Restaurant & Bar in Brooklyn will serve as the reintroduction of a groundbreaking monthly event that had a successful three year run in South Florida and even a few events in the Manhattan/LES area. After a two year hiatus, Rough Draft Inc. will relaunch the innovative artist experience that is Rough Draft.
ROUGH DRAFT...IN A NUTSHELL
Rough Draft is an interactive freestyle artist experience and event existing to showcase art through the sharing and cultivating of the creative process.
It is all impromptu and provides artists and appreciators the profound experience of sharing and exploring the creative process. The concept of Rough Draft was created by a coalition of artists that look to build, network, expose and integrate the art of writing, dance visual art, music and beyond.
For writers: With the use of a computer and projector, a writer will afforded the opportunity to “freestyle” write to music or a work of art all chosen at random. A song will be played and the writer will write whatever comes to mind.
Write what is felt, thought, experienced, reminded and conjured by the music. Simply write. All thoughts, typos, grammatical errors, soul, mind and being will be displayed on a projector for the audience to witness in real time.
There are no rules, boundaries or methods. The exemption of rules is to promote freedom of expression and stretch of creativity. This event will afford the writer (acclimated to solitary lifestyle) the space to become a visual artist.
